Umm, Are You Serious?

Another week and one more month has passed. No, I don’t have a boy toy yet and no I have no slept with a guy as good as Michael Jame’s “The Guy.” But I can tell you this week looks promising. Why? well its all in the fortune cookie…

“Your First Step Starts Today”

Whoa! This was glanced by my eyes on the same day I found an excuse to walk towards Peabody Hall and enter the Dean of Students office’s LGBT affairs corner to buy a nice orange and blue shirt that reads…

“Gay? Fine by me.”

Did I have to read a fortune cookie to realize I am actually getting somewhere. Well, before you congratulate me on buying a gay t-shirt (I have an NBC peacock tee which is a bit more obvious if you ask me) I am not sure if I will wear it this week. Supposedly, its National Coming Out Week and there will be a huge picture day at the Plaza of the Americas with a whole group of students (mainly gay, bi and lesbians) smiling to a camera for a huge group picture while everyone wears the shirt.

Just a little side note.I had my first coming out experience last year during the “Coming Out Week.” I did not until a few hours after i came out to my friend. To be exact, tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of the fateful confession to my friend who was asking me a “personal question and to not be offended.” I kind of knew the “Are you interested in guys?” question was coming. Anyways, in case you guys are not aware this “friend” I came out to became my boyfriend a week later… Long story, but you can search my blog. I have talked about this experience so many times I am sure you oldie readers are tired of me mentioning it. Go to my 100th post under Milestones. I have lots of one-year commemorations this week and next (boyfriend anniverary that was) but will I do something special this week?

I don’t see myself coming out to anyone this week, but I sure hope I get something out of it. I was born with a pair of balls and its time to show some fortitude and wear that shirt on Thursday (at least for that one hour for that group picture, or the very least just to mingle around).
